Shafted

11 Feb

I’m knackered. My back is sore, by feet are swollen and my faith in people has taken a knock.
What appeared to be a simple and civil verbal tenancy agreement with a fairly happily intoxicated landlady has turned out to be a financially and emotionally painful lesson in trust. She’s basically a borderline personality disorder bitch from hell with a drug induced permanent psychosis.

Nice lady!

To cut a long and painful story short, this cow thinks is OK to not return my deposit for not sticking to a mythical 1 year contract.

Errmmmm.. you never gave me a contract, even though I asked for one?!!
Eeee.. Si, il contracto e’ verbale!
Errrrmmm.. Exactly, so what are you holding me to?
Eeee.. I no care.. I no give you your money!

Fuck me! Human rights? Won’t find ’em in Italy my dear!

Apparently there is absolutely nothing you can do to enforce fair behavior when dealing when renting in this country. So, you pay your rent (cash only of course – don’t wanna be paying tax now do we?!), you never get to see a contract, you move on, and then you lose. Ouch :o(

On a more positive note, my new place really rocks! The curtains are not displeasing to my eyes, I have a central heating that works and a much much less psychotic landlady. I need to give her a chance.
My dog seems very happy too, and that’s important.

Off to unpack, must find warm socks and tea bags, they are here somewhere……

Awwwwww, big hugs to you…now you get to unpack and attempt to find a home for everything :-S

Sorry to hear about your landlady. What a bitch! I cannot believe that there aren’t stricter rules in Italy when it comes to renting/housing issues! And I thought the UK was shite! Eep!

Lots of love to you and good luck in your new home.
